Some key features of Windows 11 and various others details were leaked. In the leaks, it can be seen that a new start menu is designed for the new version. Likewise, if each piece of software was unique and made to be different from all the others, maybe it would be possible for it to work like hardware, without the copy protection w*nk.There are many other interface-level changes that were seen in the Windows 11 Leaked news. The point is, hardware is not pirated because each piece of hardware has to be manufactured individually and is unique to a certain extent. AFAIK there's not easy way to crack 256-bit encryption. Of course, this approach means you can't just have one copy of the software everyone can use, so there is a cost in terms of processing and server space (since each copy sold must be encrypted first), but if the decryption software was built right into the OS it might actually work. Each update would be encrypted with a different key so that previously leaked keys wouldn't work even for the same customer. ![]() If the software+key pair is leaked, it would be very easy to trace it back to the original customer who would be responsible for the leak and could be blacklisted and banned from further purchases. The software is then decrypted on-the-fly and runs normally. That way each customer would get a uniquely encrypted copy of the software, and the OS or some kind of background process would supply the encryption key whenever the software runs. I don't know if this exists, or something similar, some kind of uniquely encrypted executable files that require a unique key to decrypt so they can actually run. Put another way, if U-he or XFer released an FM8 equivalent, I'd rather buy from them. Phase Plant looks very good but I don't like their pricing model, it screams "money hungry". If not, what's a good alternative? Thanks The only NI products I currently use are Traktor, Kontakt and Reaktor. Meanwhile, Image-Line are still maintaining Sytrus (kind of, they released a vectorial version not long ago, though didn't improve the actual product in any way). A bigger UI alone would bring it back to life for a lot of us. It's a pity because they took the trouble to release a 64-bit version and the plugin is undeniably very capable. Now, NI don't exactly have a stellar long-term product support track record, and the last FM8 update was v1.4.1 on so I think it's safe to assume the product has been silently discontinued. When sitting one metre away from a 1080p 15" display I basically cannot read many of the text captions on the GUI without squinting pretty hard.
